Common Themes in Therapy: Rejection & Invalidation

Our entire lives are filled with rejection and invalidation. Just because we have been through it doesn’t mean it comes easy. Finding spaces where you won’t be chronically invalidated are sometimes hard to come by, and when we face rejection in those spaces it can feel like a slap in the face.
Through relational therapy we can work through the emotional toll of rejection and invalidation. In our work together we will navigate the relationship dynamics that remind you that you are safe, trusted, and cared for.

We will work together to build trust and create safety in therapy. Then we will look back at previous relationship dynamics to understand how these experiences have shaped your view of yourself and your emotional experience. With chronic invalidation often comes a drought of validation - so that might be what you need at first. I won’t necessarily Good Will Hunting you, but I definitely will remind you of what I know about you as we work together.
